SEACHA Conferences

Conferences allow for the exchange of ideas and learning about cultural heritage across Southeast Asia that lies at the heart of The Southeast Asian Culture Heritage Alliance (SEACHA). Since its formation after the 2019 pan-Asian conference “Heritage Protection: The Asian Experience” hosted in Thailand, collective dialogue has been central in SEACHA’s pursuit of fostering communication and solidarity among Southeast Asian networks and elevating cultural heritage issues from the community level to government policy. SEACHA intends to hold conferences on a regular basis to provide conservationists, academics, and activists space to communicate with one another and draft clear proposals for the future of heritage conservation in Southeast Asia. With each conference topic, SEACHA enables cultural heritage experts to apply their experience and knowledge to different aspects of the modern world and demonstrate the enduring importance of Southeast Asian indigenous practices.
