SUMMARY:Cha-Time with SEACHA#34: The Preservation of Cultural Heritage through Sound
DESCRIPTION:Join us on November 23 at 14:00 Bangkok time for Cha-Time # 34\, “The Preservation of Cultural Heritage through Sound”. The Southeast Asian Cultural Heritage Alliance invited Ms. Sirasar Boonma of Hear & Found to share her insights on this topic.\n\n\nAs a field recordist and sound designer\, Ms. Sirasar Boonma (Mae) is passionate about capturing the sonic tapestry of indigenous cultures. Her work explores the intersection of sound\, environment\, and community. Through Hear & Found\, she strives to preserve these sonic treasures and empower communities to share their stories.\n\n\n\nHear & Found is dedicated to preserving and celebrating diverse soundscapes\, from everyday noises to indigenous music. They empower communities to document and share their sonic heritage through field recording workshops and an online sound archive. By fostering a culture of listening\, Hear & Found aims to deepen our connection to the world around us.\n\n\n\nThe conversation will be moderated by Ar. Andy Hasegawa\, SEACHA Youth Representative and Heritage Conservation Society Trustee\, an architect and educator in architectural history\, with Masters education background in History\, Theory\, and Criticism from University of the Philippines Diliman.\n\n\nRegistration for the talk is required.
